Reiki
Energy harmonization for relaxation and balance.
What is Reiki
Reiki is an integrative energy harmonization practice developed in Japan in the early twentieth century by Mikao Usui. Its name joins rei, which points to the universal dimension, and ki, the vital energy, and it describes a way of balancing the body's energy flow.
During a session, the practitioner gently lays their hands on or just above the body, following a sequence of positions meant to encourage relaxation. You stay fully clothed, seated or lying down, in a calm and welcoming space.
Many people come to Reiki in moments of emotional tiredness or racing thoughts, or simply as a pause to slow down. The experience varies from person to person. Some report a sense of calm and lightness after the session.
Reiki is a complementary practice of wellbeing and self-care. It can walk alongside medical and psychological care, but it does not replace professional diagnosis or health care.
